UNIVERSIDADE CATÓLICA PORTUGUESA – CENTRO REGIONAL DO PORTO, ESCOLA SUPERIOR DE BIOTECNOLOGIA (UCP) - PORTUGAL
The College of Biotechnology (ESB), as a faculty of the Portuguese Catholic University, has been producing high-level research (http://www.esb.ucp.pt/CBQF/) and development and training in the biotechnology area for more than 20 years. As general features of the educational, scientific and cultural project of ESB, we point out the undergraduate and graduate courses (1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles) in the Biotechnology field; the courses related to the scientific research performed at ESB; and the various courses aimed at responding to the specific needs of the community. The search for knowledge through scientific research, technology transfer and the promotion of technology-based entrepreneurship, are complementary forms of ESB’s intervention in the society. The link between the scientific areas developed at ESB, mainly in the food and environmental sectors, and the interests and needs of the local community, is also important for ESB. ESB promotes transnational mobility of students and staff between ESB and an extensive number of international and national institutions (www.porto.ucp.pt/mri). More details: http://www.esb.ucp.pt/ |
