The UM is an institution of higher education and research members including, among others, faculties of Law, Medicine and Pharmacy. The University of Montpellier (more than 950 teachers and researchers) welcomes nearly 24.000 students (17 % are international) per year and offers high quality work facilities (197.313 m2 of facilities, 163.000 m2 of greenspaces).  The international strategy of UM is to drive its masters towards international dimension. Currently, the University of Montpellier participates in several European education programs such as Tempus, Erasmus Mundus and Averroes. Already more than 78 cooperation agreements and 270 Erasmus bilateral agreements have been signed with foreign universities. In the context of the university mergers policy in Montpellier, a unique University named Université Montpellier Sud has been set up and identified by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research as one of 10 French Centers of Excellence.

Institut Agronomique Méditerranéen de Montpellier (IAMM) - france

In charge of the administration and the financial monitoring co-ordination

The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute (IAM) of Montpellier is one of the four institutes of the International Center for High Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM). The Agronomic Insitute of Montpellier (IAMM) in highly involved in the existence of a Euromediterranean system of high education and research in close collaboration with the other institutes of the CIHEAM in Bari, Chania and Zaragoza. With the aim of offering constantly higher services, it has implemented a quality process: it has been awarded the ISO 9001 certification in 2008 concerning its educational management and plans to extend the quality process to its research activities.
The IAMM is specialized in the fields of agricultural economics, social sciences and food firms management in the Mediterranean. It will provide skills in the authentification of agrifood products as well as in the analysis of consumers’ conception of food quality and health policies.

It offers its open window on the Mediterranean area as well as two specific support services: 1) intensive preparatory courses in French through its linguistic centre, the CFLE (Centre de Français Langue Etrangère) - 2) Its expertise in quality assessment.

UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DELLA BASILICATA (UNIBAS) - italy

The University of Basilicata was founded in 1981 and started its academic activities in 1982. The 7 Faculties of UNIBAS (Humanities, Agricultural Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Pharmacy, Economy and Educational Science) are all engaged in preserving and stimulating the cultural, economic and environmental heritage of the region while simultaneously looking at excellence in research and education.
The Technical-Economical Department, offering specific training on subjects related with technical and economical aspects of agricultural and food science. One of the 4 Master Courses of the department will be offered as a part of the EDAMUS, it is titled: “Food  Science and Technology.
Finally The University of Basilicata has a long and wide tradition in terms of International Cooperation Activities. They include participation into more than 100 Erasmus bilateral agreements and into several didactic and research projects at international level.

Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (IAMz) - spain

The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (IAMZ) is the Institute of CIHEAM in Spain. CIHEAM is an International organization created by an intergovernmental agreement in 1962, ratified by the parliaments of the 13 member countries, which has been entrusted the duty of providing higher education at postgraduate level in the fields of agriculture, economics and environment.
The IAMZ’s aim is to contribute to the sustainability of the agricultural systems of the Mediterranean and to guarantee sustainable development, economic efficiency of the agro-food process as well as consumer safety. At IAMZ training is given by highly qualified invited experts from all over the world, selected for their experience and prestige in each subject. A large part of IAMZ activities is carried out in collaboration with numerous national and international institutions of the Mediterranean region and take place both at the IAMZ and in other centres of Mediterranean countries.

Université Mentouri de Constantine (UC1) - algeria

The UC1 aggregates skills in the fields of food science . The research laboratories in UC1 receive Master and PhD students. Because of its position and its importance, the UC1 coordinates all the academic institutions of East Algeria and takes part in insuring that graduates find employment.
The UC1 regularly organizes forums with small and medium-sized businesses in the agrofood field. A special unit for relations with small and medium-sized businesses, a business incubator, an entrepreneurship centre and a career centre were created in the UC1. The UC1 coordinates the setting up and the hosting of the National Centre for Biotechnology Centre with the agrifood department.

The UC1 is partner in the Averroes project and in projects supported by the EU, France, Spain and the AUF.

The UC1 is also part of the distance learning promotion with the creation of a distance learning centre and the support for training the trainers ("Ide@" plateform) .

Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICh) - greece

The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania is a constituent Institute of the International Centre of Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), whose purpose is the development of scientific co-operation by providing post graduate education, research training and applications in the fields of economics, management, and applied natural, technological and environmental sciences, as related to rural areas.  The field of Food Quality and its management is covered complementarily by the MSc programmes of i) Food Quality and Chemistry of Natural Products, ii) Sustainable Agriculture, iii) Horticulural Genetics and Biotechnology (featuring GMO detection) and iv) Business Economics and Management (focusing on agrifood products). Training and research is also supported by the laboratory premises including the laboratories of “Chemistry of Natural Products and Analytical Chemistry”, “Horticultural Genetics and Biotechnology”, “Soil Science” and “Microbiology – Virology”.
